Gary in the Independent:

”Drummers who left a mark Gary Powell - Dirty Pretty Things While his singers in The Libertines, Pete Doherty and Carl Barât, whose Dirty Pretty Things he now drums for, have had a series of health and chemically addled misadventures, the muscular Powell can be seen back-stage swinging from the ceiling. The indestructible rock of current British indie. “

"I'm just making a little dub record," he said, "to see how it goes, and if it's no good then well just leave it. It's just something I want to do and something he [McClure] wants to do."

James Allan (Glasvegas) about playing with Dirty Pretty Things on Daily Record:

"We played with PaulWeller the other night and Carl came along," he said. "Then, when we were recording some b-sides on our day off, me and the bass player went along to the Dirty Pretty Things gig and I went up and did a song with Carl.

"We hadn't rehearsed. I just walked in and picked up a guitar.

When the song broke down I started singing Bob Marley's Stir It Up which confused people but they joined in.

"Afterwards we went bowling with Carl. He won so I was raging. I'm a fan of the film Big Lebowski and a few people were shouting, 'Over the line, Smokey' so they must have been fans of the film as well. It was great."

And here's a short YouTube clip of the 'Stir it up' part...
